Beverly Jean Lien passed away December 29, 2024, at the age of 98, at Trios Hospital in Kennewick, Washington, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born at her grandparents' home in Milwaukie, Oregon on July 25, 1926, to Kingsley Osmund and Grace Davis Harris of Portland, Oregon.

Beverly attended Woodmere Elementary and Franklin High Schools in Portland. After graduating high school in 1944, she attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon from 1945 to 1946. Before she began a second year at the university, she met Dexter Lien, freshly discharged from the Navy, and her plans changed. Beverly and Dexter were married on April 3, 1947. They were married for 71 years. Dexter passed away in 2018. Beverly worked at a department store in Portland while Dex studied engineering at the University of Portland. They began their family after Dex graduated and started working. Daughters Debbie and Madeline were born in Vancouver, Washington. Then in 1956, the family moved to Seattle. During their eight years in Seattle, they added son Jeff and daughter Allison to their family. In 1964, they moved to Richland with their four children, a dog, a cat, goldfish, and a turtle.

Beverly loved being a homemaker and raising her children. She served as school room mother, Cub Scout Den Mother, and Camp Fire Girls leader. She sewed clothes for herself and her children. She enjoyed painting, quilting, and gardening. For many years she was active in the Tri City Quilters Guild. She bowled in a league into her 80s. After her children were grown, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's musical and sports activities, researching the family's ancestry, and traveling. She and Dex were fortunate to be able to travel to several countries, and enjoyed many Elderhostel trips in the states, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Beverly is survived by her children; Debbie (Jeff) Gieszler, Madeline (John) Wall, Jeff (Brenda) Lien, and Allison (Greg) Edwards. Grandchildren; Brian (Sarah) Gieszler, Stephanie (Erik) Best, Dylan (Anna) Wall, Abby Wall, Tifa, Scott, and Brandon Lien, Daniel (Holly) Edwards, and Krista (Jeremy) Dyer. Great grandchildren; Kaden and Jaxon Best, Brighton Gieszler, Adrian and Todd Holgate, Elaine Dyer, and Aleksei Wall.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade, because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
