Beverly J. Denning, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at home on September 18, 2015. She was born on September 5, 1922 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Louis and Christine VanDerhei. She graduated from Manitowoc High School in 1940 and went on to Columbia School of Nursing where she received her RN degree in 1944. She married James Stewart Denning in 1946 while he was attending medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. It was during this time, that she developed a life-long love for the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team. They moved to Pasco in 1952 where she helped Jim (our dad) set up his practice as Pasco's newest physician/surgeon. Bev had four more children, bringing the total to seven, before she was widowed in 1959. From that point forward she devoted her life to the raising of her children, from Catholic grade school, through Pasco High, college, and advanced degrees for some. Although difficult at times, she remained committed to her family yet still had time to volunteer with blood drives, boys/girls scouts, swim meets and countless other activities. After the children were raised, she worked for Dr. Amos Gregson until she retired in 1985. She loved her sports and always hosted major sporting events in her home. With Wisconsin roots, she was a diehard Packer fan and took great pride in her cheesehead and Packer stock certificate that was displayed proudly in her living room. All holidays and major family events for children and grandkids were very special to her. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Christine VanDerhei, brothers George and Jack VanDerhei, son Michael Denning and husband Dr. James S. Denning. She is survived by sons Tim, Jeff (Doris), and Kip, and daughters Susan Neff (Lester), Christine Bovey (Charlie), and Julie Michel (Shannon). She is also survived by ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at City View Cemetery in Pasco.
