Obituary

Beverly L. Darsow

Beverly L. Darsow, 94, passed peacefully into the Lord’s presence on October 7, 2026, at her home in Crista Shores Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family.

Early Life and Education

Bev was born to Fremont and Helen (née Moore) Easbey on April 27, 1932, in Havre, Montana. Her family later lived in Conrad and Harlem, Montana, where she began first grade, before settling in Helena. Bev attended school in Helena from eighth grade through her graduation from Helena High School in 1950.

In high school, Bev was a cheerleader, served as senior class secretary, participated in several clubs, and worked after school at a trucking company. She earned a two-year teaching degree from Northern Montana College in 1952. Although her father initially did not believe women should attend college because “they were just going to get married,” he was deeply proud when Bev earned her degree.

Marriage, Teaching, and Family

After graduation, Bev taught second grade in Libby, Montana, where she met her future husband, Don Darsow, on a blind date. One week later, Don left to serve with the Air Force in Korea, and they continued their courtship by mail. They married on August 21, 1954.

While Don completed his military service in Moses Lake, Washington, Bev continued her education and earned a degree from Eastern Washington University. During the first nine months of their marriage, they saw each other only on weekends. Bev later taught second grade for four years in Bozeman, Montana, while Don completed his engineering degree in 1959. After his graduation, they moved to the Tri-Cities, Washington, where they made their home and began their family.

A Life of Service and Joy

Bev was a devoted wife and mother who was always there for her family and consistently put them first. Her servant’s heart shaped every part of her life. As a teacher, she gave extra time before and after school to students who needed additional support. She also led Boy Scout and Blue Bird groups for her children and volunteered as a classroom room mother.

Bev was an active and devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she served in many ways, including creating the famous lasagna dinner and teaching Thursday ladies’ Bible study for many years. She was also an avid seamstress, quilter, cross-stitcher, baker, and reader. Bev saw the best in everyone, treasured her many friendships, and truly enjoyed life.

Family

Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; and her three siblings.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Jill); daughters Cynthia Parker (Paul) and Barbara Waggoner (Kurt); grandchildren Blake Waggoner (Ely), Kolby Waggoner (Stephanie), Tarelle Wing (Connor), Courtney Parker, Devan Darsow, Megan Darsow, and Dylan Darsow; and great-grandchildren Hazel Waggoner, Evelyn Waggoner, Sofia Waggoner, Victoria Waggoner, and John Wing.
