Betty Mae Stevenson (85) peacefully went to be with her God on April 15, 2016 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Pittsburg, Kansas, on April 24, 1930 and was named Betty Mae Stevenson but was later baptized Helen Elizabeth after her mother. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert John and Helen Elizabeth (Pluta) Cronister; her sisters: Ann Epple, Rosalie Hull, Lorene Price, and Patricia Endicott; her brothers: John Robert, Mick, Galan and Jerry Cronister; and Uncle Aleck and Aunt Esther Domas. Betty is survived by her dedicated husband of 68 years Ralph Stevenson and their four children: Mike (Michelle) Stevenson of Montana, Larry (Denise) Stevenson of California, Gail (Chuck) Sitler of Kennewick and Rhonda Stevenson of California; 8 grandchildren: Dwane (Angie) Sitler, Wendy (Eric) Wilz, Angela (Jeremy) Watkins, Brianne Stevenson, Michael Stevenson, Jessica (Eric) Bucy, Amanda Leistiko and Krista Stevenson; 11 great grandchildren; and her sisters Joann Lucas, Jeanette (Joe) Gebhardt and Shirley (Robert) Downing. In 1947, she graduated from St. Mary's High School in Pittsburgh, Kansas and later that summer married Ralph. They moved their family to Kennewick in 1958. An elegant and dignified woman, Betty made tending to her family and keeping a beautiful home her life's work. She also was the bookkeeper for Schmidt and Stevenson Masonry and later Stevenson Masonry. A devout catholic, she was a parishioner and member of the women's groups at both St. Joseph's Parish and Parish of the Holy Spirit. Her friends and family will remember her for her incredible pies and desserts especially her coconut cream pie and peanut brittle. A rosary will be recited in her honor on Friday, April 22, 2016, 6:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S Union St., Kennewick. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at the Parish of the Holy Spirit, 7409 W Clearwater Ave., Kennewick followed by a reception. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick.
