On June 19, 2012, our mom passed away surrounded by the love and admiration of her family. We all feel truly blessed to have had Betty Merrill for our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty was born and raised in Lisbon, New Hampshire by Jim and Helen Wright. She married George E. Merrill, her high-school sweetheart, on November 30, 1947. In 1948, they moved to Richland, WA. George passed away, in May 1992, after 44 years of marriage. Betty and George had 3 children; Cathy Merrill Holle, of Pasco, WA, Jim Merrill Anita, of Lacey, WA., and Mike Merrill Kathy. Mike passed away in 1986. She also leaves 4 grandchildren; Chad Nicole Foltz, Katti Steve Warren, Sam Erin Merrill, and Michelle Merrill; and 5 great-grandchildren: Carson and Cassidy Foltz, Nickolas and Olivia Warren, and Jonah Michael Merrill. She was fierce in her love and loyalty for her family. Besides immediate family, she leaves her loving friends of 55-years Bobbi and Duane Hobbs, Joeleen Mewes Swain, and Helen Beebe and the children of her heart Bill Zama, Roger Scheibner, Faye Zama, Barbara Ode, and Linda Holmes. Mom always had a pet; usually several. Before she left she made sure Shiba and Rene-Rene were to be cared for and loved in her absence. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 25th, 2012, 1:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick.
