Betty Jane Evans was born to Harold and Asta Larkin in South Bend, WA. She and her younger brother, Tom, were raised in Southwestern WA. Betty graduated from Ocosta High School class of 1941, while her family lived in North Cove, WA. She attended WSU where she joined Delta Kappa sorority and graduated with a bachelor's degree as a dietitian. While attending WSU she met her future husband, Ivor Evans, a veterinary student. She and Ivor were married in April of 1947. They spent 2 years in Puyallup, WA before Ivor joined a veterinary practice in Kennewick in 1949. Ivor and Betty, made their home here and raised 4 children, Marilyn b. 1950, Kathy b. 1952, Tom B. 1954 and Gini B. 1956. Betty was involved in many activities including Cub Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, KGH Auxiliary Pres., WA State Veterinary Women's Auxiliary Pres., Advisor for Job's Daughters, gardening, bowling and golf leagues. When Ivor and Betty became empty nesters they began fulfilling a life time dream of traveling the country and the globe. Ivor passed in 1980 and Betty joined Rambling Rovers and continued to travel. In 1987 her only grandchild was born and she became Gran not only to Laura but too many of Laura's friends. Betty moved to Hawthorne Court in 2008 and began yet another journey meeting new people and making friends. In 2013 she moved to The Squires where she joined Pete and Carrie's family. They lovingly cared for until her death, Feb. 26, 2015. Betty is survived by her son, Tom Evans (Shaina), daughter, Gini Watt (Doug), brother, Tom Larkin, granddaughter, Laura Carey (Nick) and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Serenity, Bobbi and Tyson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivor, and daughters Marilyn Evans, and Kathy Evans.
