Bettie M. Bendewald, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 20, 2007. She was a resident of Avalon Health Care Facility in Pasco. She was born on May 26, 1925 in Spokane, WA. to Alexander & Elsie Weinrich Munro. Bettie attended the University of Idaho and worked for the phone company in Spokane prior to marrying Walt Bendewald in August of 1949. They had three children. She worked for many years at Town & Country Real Estate and was an active member of the League of Women Voters. Upon retiring she devoted her life to helping others in various volunteer organizations. She met Ted Gates later in life and they spent many years together. Bettie is survived by her son Craig Marcy Bendewald of Kennewick, WA.; daughters Lisa Matt Zerbe of Spokane, WA. and Lynn Jeff Winters also of Kennewick; grandchildren, Daniel Kari Bendewald, Nick and Alicia Zerbe. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Lung Association or a charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 3:00p.m. at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick.
