Bernadette "Bonnie" Kienzle died after a courageous battle with Parkinson's, October 19, 2009, at Legacy Homes in Kennewick, Washington at 81 years old. Bonnie was born June 15, 1928 in Jefferson, Iowa to Michael and Elizabeth Brunner. She graduated from Creighton University with a BS in Nursing in 1951. In 1954, she met her husband, Henry "Hank" Kienzle in St. Louis, where she taught at St. Louis University Hospital. They were married in 1955 and lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Idaho and California before coming to Kennewick in 1978. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Hank; four daughters: Elizabeth Eric Kienzle-Watje of Santa Clara, California, Joanne Andy Kopriva of Kennewick, MaryKay Gary Weber of Kent, and Bonnie Jeanne of Kennewick; four siblings: Mary Ann Holden, Rosemary Robert Burke, Richard Brunner, and Rev. William Brunner, all of Jefferson, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Beth and William Watje, Stephen, David and Brian Butler, Katelyn, Aaron, and Alyssa Weber, and Sasha Kopriva; and one great-grandchild, Mia Butler. She was active in the State Advisory Committee for Handicapped, ARC, several bridge clubs and Canyon Lakes 9 Holer Golf Clubs. She enjoyed gardening, music, and visiting with friends and family. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Rosary will be held Wednesday, October 21st, 2009, 7:30pm, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield, Kennewick, with viewing to follow. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 22nd, 10:00am also at St. Joseph's. Donations may be made to the ARC of Tri-Cities, Hospice at The Chaplaincy, or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
