Bane Everett Blankenship was born January 2, 1921 in Manes, Mo and went to his heavenly reward March 4, 2014. He lived in Kennewick for the past 66 years and leaves behind, June, his loving wife of 66 years. Bane served honorably during WWII as a medic in the 101st Airborne, including battles in Normandy and Bastogne. He received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper and fished up to the time that his health wouldn't allow him continue. His stories are legendary in the family. Bane was a very generous man with both his time and finances. Nobody in his family went wanting for either. Family was his first priority. In addition to his wife June, Bane also leaves behind his daughter Dixie, sons Terry (Terry), Rick (Meg) and Greg, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bane will be reunited in Heaven with his twin brother Lane and his grandson, Justin. Viewing will be held 5 PM to 8 PM, March 7th at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home (14th & Union). Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, March 8th at Desert Lawn Memorial Park (10th & Union) and the Memorial Service will be at 1:00 PM at Columbia Community Church (Gage Blvd).
