Arleen H Abelseth Silliman was born February 4, 1936, in Ralph, South Dakota, the youngest of six children born to Hans and Sally Abelseth. She passed away at Kadlec Hospital on January 5, 2026.

She was raised on the Abelseth family farm in Perkins County, South Dakota and later spent much of her adult life in Washington State.

Arleen met her husband, Ken Silliman, who was stationed at the Air Force station in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was working at Barbara Ann's Ice Cream Parlor. Ken would come in for coffee, and she could not remember from one night to the next whether he took cream in his coffee so he finally gave up and just started drinking it black. They were married in August of 1953 and subsequently moved to Kennewick, Washington, where they assisted in the operation of Ken's family business, the Farmers Exchange.

She was the mother of four children, Suzan Silliman, Vickie Bergum (Brian), Kathy Ann Baker, and Keith Silliman.

Arleen was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Sally Abelseth; her husband, Ken Silliman; her daughter, Kathy Ann Baker; and her brothers and sisters, Harold, Gudrun, Alta, Norman and Fred.

She is survived by Suzan, Vickie, and Keith: 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
