He was born on January 29, 1952, in Uvalde, TX to Felix and Santos Vargas. He is survived by his four sons Antonio J. Vargas, Jr., Daniel L. Vargas (Amber Ariss), Mario J. Vargas, and Moses E. Vargas (Edith Penaloza), and stepson Brandon W. Cunningham (Marina). He is also survived by his grandchildren Trenton Cunningham, Ethan Cunningham, Antonio Vargas III, Alycia Mata Lopez, Daniel Vargas II, Addyson Vargas, Beautiful Moana Vargas, Hector Villa and Lawrence Neal.

Antonio also leaves his brothers Felix Vargas (Loretta) and Fidencio Vargas (Nina), sisters Paula Rieger (Jim), Maria Espinoza, Janie Brim, Santos Scott, and Lupe Montelongo (Albert). He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mari, his mother Santos Vargas, father Felix Vargas and brothers Francisco Vargas and Rogelio Vargas. Antonio graduated from Pasco High School in 1972. He worked in the Hanford area, supporting transportation and logistical operations as a licensed vehicle operator. He is remembered for his skill, uncompromising work ethic and excellent sense of humor.

In retirement, he devoted himself completely to supporting family members. Above all, he cared deeply for his grandchildren who regularly accompanied him and his wife Mari at home and about town. He was the essence of being a father and grandfather by supporting, providing for, and loving his children and grandchildren.

He will be forever remembered for his unconditional love of family, his funny stories, contagious laughter, and unyielding support of the Raiders football team. Rest well, father. We shall hold you tightly in our hearts and look to the day when we see you and mom together again.
