Anthony "Tony" Clare Costello II On the evening of December 2, 2014, Anthony Clare Costello II, known to everyone as Tony, passed peacefully into the next life. Tony was born in Seattle on January 24, 1949, to Dorothy and Clare George Costello. Tony loved living in the Tri-Cities. He moved with his family to Kennewick in 1953. He earned a degree in accounting at Central Washington University and continued on to become a Certified Public Accountant. In the early 1970s Tony established his own accounting firm where he served his clients until the spring of this year, when illness forced him to retire. Comments from his clients often included his extensive knowledge and expertise, but more often focused on appreciation of his character. (And he was a character!) Tony was known for always having an open door and for being generous with his time. His brilliant mind and lively sense of humor had a way of keeping all of us on our toes. Tony contributed much to his community, serving many years as treasurer on the Board of Directors for both the Tri-cities Red Cross and Columbia Industries. Tony was powerfully motivated by his belief in the value of these programs. Tony is survived by his sisters, Sandra M. (John) Livermore, Terese M. (Jim) Botsford, and Mary L. Costello; two nephews, three nieces; and fourteen grand nieces and nephews. Tony had many, many strong friendships, some dating back to elementary school. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, December 10, at 1:00 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Chapel in Kennewick. A rosary will be at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Hospice House in Kennewick would be appreciated.
