Anne (Rogers) Taber Anne Taber, of Pasco, passed away January 19, 2018 at the age of 94. Anne was born in Cantalupo, Italy on October 20th, 1923 to Nick and Carmina Rogers. At the age of seven, Anne, her mother Carmina and brother John traveled from Italy to the United States to join her father Nick who had traveled and taken up residence in Pasco, Washington a couple years prior to work on the railroad. As a 7 year old immigrant who could not speak English, her engaging smile, warm personality and her desire to help others drew admirers of all ages. Her determination to succeed was most evident by her ability to learn the English language and to accept her parents wishes to overcome any cultural barriers and appreciate this new life the migration to the United States was offering. As a lifelong Pasco resident, Anne attended Pasco Schools, was active in sports, a Pasco High School cheerleader and graduated from Pasco High School in 1943. Following graduation she entered the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lewiston, Idaho where she obtained her registered nursing degree in 1947 and joined the Cadet Nurses Corp. Anne was employed at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as a surgical nurse and perfected her profession over the next 40 years before retirement. In 1949, Anne married the love of her life, Bruce, and was married 31 years before his unexpected death. Anne and Bruce were blessed with three children Greg, Steve and Teresa. Anne was the matriarch of the family, the ultimate caregiver whose calling in life was to nurture her family and care for her friends. As friends aged it was Anne who made the daily visits to retirement and nursing homes to make sure her friends needs were met. A lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pasco, attending Mass was an expectation that was seldom missed. There are so many fond memories of Anne taking care of family and friends, whether it was serving spaghetti dinners every Sunday, to picking up her grandchildren from St. Patrick's School for generations, to making sure everyone had a cold beverage during "Annie's cocktail hour" every day at 4:00pm. Despite all her hard work it was amazing she never had a grey hair! Anne was always on the go. Taking up the game of golf after Bruce passed away and becoming an avid walker along the Columbia River for many years. Her support of Pasco High School sports has been unwavering for the last seventy years. Anne is survived by her son Greg (Debi), Steve (Susan) and daughter Teresa (Paul) Monville, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Heather, Candace, Makenzie, Madison, Dominick and Annina, along with seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce, parents Nick and Carmina and brother John.
