Andrea Margareta Stout Olsen met the world on July 22, 1947. She endured the temperature at Our Lady of Lourdes of 116 degrees F in Pasco, Washington. Andrea passed peacefully of natural causes at Sun Terrace Retirement Inn of Prosser, Washington on April 21, 2025. Her father, Edward General Stout, and mother, Anna Margareta Beck Stout preceded her death. Her grandparents also preceded her death. She was close to her grandmothers, Anna Margareta Morg Beck and Ida Emogene McEwen Stout. Russell Edward Olsen, son, Rebecca Persoon Olsen, daughter – in- law, and Alexander Edward Olsen, grandson survived their beloved mother and grandmother. David Eric Olsen, her husband of 54 years, survived his beloved wife. Surviving her were cousins on both maternal and paternal sides.
Andrea played the organ at the Lutheran Church of the Master in Pasco, WA. David and Andre joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grandview, WA. Andrea retired as a medical administrator. She was employed by Memorial Clinic on its three campuses in Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties in Washington State. Previously, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and History at Pacific Lutheran University. Her senior paper was about the history of Walla Walla, Washington. She also completed a fifth year of graduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University. She focused on adolescent literature. She, was the first student teacher at Rogers High School. In Puyallup, Washington, taught Washington State History. She also taught Core English, History, and Reading at Ramsey Junior High and Highland Park Junior High in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She as a member of the. Sacajawea Chapter of the daughters of the American Revolution worked to support members. As a member of the Hovedstad Sons of Norway, she volunteered at the Washington State library to support genealogical research. Andrea expected strong responses from her family, students and employees. Her personality exhibited a strong, determined, and firm kindness. We will miss our beloved mother, grandmother, and wife.
A Memorial Service will take place at City View Cemetery in Pasco, WA on May 31, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Jake Schumacher will preside.
