Obituary  (Information of life) for Amelia E. Rossiter

July 31, 1930 - December 23, 2023

Amelia (Mimi) Rossiter passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, surrounded by family, joining her husband Bill in Heaven.

Mimi was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1930 to Fred and Lena D'Amato. In her early teens she moved with her family to upstate New York.

(While in junior high school she would meet Bill Rossiter - who was in high school at the time - and unbeknownst to either of them, would be her future husband many years later).

After graduating from Dolgeville High School (NY) in 1948 she moved back to Philadelphia and went to the Franklin School of Science & Arts where she graduated as a medical secretary. She then moved to Washington D.C. where she worked at The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology for a year then moved back to Philadelphia where she worked for Penn Mutual Insurance and the Civil Service Commission.

She moved out to Washington state in 1960 to marry Bill Rossiter. They started their family in Richland in 1961. In 1964 they moved to Pasco where they raised their two children. While her children were growing, Mimi was active in her church (Pasco First Christian). She was an avid reader and enjoyed several cross-country trips traveling to visit her family on the East Coast.

Mimi is survived by her son Mark (Heidi) Rossiter of Kennewick, WA, daughter Michele (Brent) Preston of Pasco, WA, stepson Mike Rossiter of Shelton, WA, granddaughters Chenyn (Josiah) Johnson of Pasco, WA, Brooke (Nash) Hay of Pasco, WA, Hope Rossiter of Richland, WA, and great grandchildren Connor and Bryn Johnson of Pasco, WA.

Mimi is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill of 47 years in 2008, sisters Renee Crumbaker (Tavares, FL) and JoAnne Servello (Herkimer, NY).
