Obituary

Alvie William Covington,87 of Pasco WA died Sunday Jan1 2024, at Kadlec

Medical center in Richland, WA. Alvie was born Aug.8,1936 in Newkirk, New

Mexico to Fay and Earl Covington. They moved to the Tri-Cities in 1942,

living along the Columbia River in Kennewick until it flooded and then

relocated to a farm in Benton City. Alvie lived in Benton City until he

graduated from KiBe High School in 1955.

Alvie enlisted in the Army serving in Germany. Upon Returning home he

worked the wheat harvest in Horse Heaven HIlls.

Alvie married Donna Myers Feb.11,1962. He joined the Pasco Fire Department

retiring after 25 years of service. He then became a bus driver for the

Pasco School District. He was also a CDL trainer for the new drivers. He

was a dedicated employee, truly enjoying both of these jobs.

Donna and Alvie with their close friends Pam and Gene Enloe were dedicated

volunteers for the Pasco Invite and Booster club. They had the honor of

having the invite dedicated to them one year.

Alvie was a loving father of two children Jerry and Cheryl, who grew up to

make him very proud.

Alvie and Donna joined the Three Rivers Sam travel club, traveling in their

motorhome with their family and making many friends. They were members of

the Pasco Christian Church for many years.

Alvie was a loving husband, father and friend who will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Alfred, sisters

Linda, Lois and Shirley, and most recently his son Jerry.

He is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Cheryl(Tina), daughter in law

Spring and sons Matt and Carl, brother Louis an puppy Missy. He is also

survived by Norito Takanaka and his family Masaka, Mika, and Huka. Norito

joined the family as an exchange student from Japan.

Services will be held at Pasco Christian Church on Feb 7th@11 am.
