ALLYN LEE BOLDT (1941 – 2025)

Allyn Lee Boldt, 83, of Kennewick, Washington, died in Kennewick on November 28, 2025.

He was born in Pipestone, Minnesota in 1941 to August and Elsie Boldt. Allyn attended the South Dakota School of the Mines receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. After graduating he moved to Richland, Washington to start his career at the Hanford nuclear reservation. Allyn was passionate about Hanford tank waste cleanup. He finished his employed career working on tank waste treatment options and continued his passion after retirement working with the Hanford Advisory Board and advising on cleanup efforts. Allyn's coworkers affectionally (maybe not) nicknamed him "Grumpy." Also, after retirement, Allyn faithfully attended the "staff meeting" with his coworkers and friends to continue to solve Hanford and world problems.

Allyn met Sondra at dancing lessons (yes, dancing lessons.) They were married in 1967 after a whirlwind romance. He and Sondra raised Lisa, Adria, and Aric in Kennewick, Washington and have resided there since. Allyn and Sondra loved to vacation in their RV at the Washington coast, listening to the waves and watching the sunsets. They also especially loved to host pool parties for their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. It made them happy to watch their family having so much fun.

Allyn is preceded in death by his parents, August and Elsie Boldt, his brother, Charles Boldt, his sister, Judith Davis, and his son, Aric Boldt. Allyn is survived by his wife, Sondra Boldt, daughters, Adria Johnson and Lisa Rogers (Jim), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Emily and Tamrich Perez (Kaia, Cash, Benny,) Anna and Colton Meyer, Nathan Brandenburg, Gabe and Savanna Johnson (Scarlett,) Gavin Johnson, Roxana and Dee Brown (Raenna,) brother-in-law, James Davis, and niece, Erin Davis.

A graveside service will be held in Allyn's honor on December 4, 2025, at 1:30pm, at the Riverview Heights cemetery, Kennewick, Washington.

A reception will be held immediately after the graveside service at Adria's home.
