Alene Charlotte Edna Hansey was 91 when she passed peacefully in her sleep at home to awaken with Jesus on September 2, 2009. Alene was born December 18, 1917 in Emmons County, North Dakota. She was one of nine children born to John and Alice Orloske. The family moved from North Dakota to Chehalis, Washington where Alene graduated from high school. She then worked in the chicken sexing industry and various other jobs for several years until she met and fell in love with Orris Hansey. They married June 22, 1946 in Yakima where dad worked as a carpenter. A special son, Gary, was born February 27, 1948. They moved to Moses Lake and were blessed with twin girls, Debbie and Merry September 6, 1953 and Linda August 26, 1955. In 1956 the family moved to Everett to dad?s parent?s farm house and established a large egg farm. In 1968 the family moved to Pasco where they owned Riviera Trailer Village along with Orris?s brother and Alene?s sister, Glen and Agnes Hansey. The business was sold in 1984 but they continued as management along with their daughter Debbie Somers. Orris passed away August 30, 2000 at home. Alene continued living at her home in Pasco. Alene is survived by her brother, Edwin Evelyn Orloske of Roseburg, Kansas; four children, Gary Hansey of Pasco, Debbie Dennis Somers of Pasco, Merry David McKenzie of Kennewick and Linda Irby of Pasco; seven grandchildren, Tammy Eric Bender, Scott McKenzie, Denise Dan Mildren, Tracey Greg DeRoos, Josh Somers, Nikki Brent Shurzinger and Jeremy Irby, all of Pasco; nine great-grandchildren, Tyler & Garret, L.J. & Ari, Lindsay, Trent & Lauren, Emma & Eli; sister-in-law, Bernice Orloske; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Orris Hansey, her parents John and Alice Orloske, siblings Margaret John Perona, Max Dora Orloske, Evans Merle Orloske, Arnold Orloske, Dorothy Harry Rowett, Agnes Glen Hansey and Thelma Jim Wakefield. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, bowling, pinochle and other card games, bingo, working her crossword puzzles and traveling all over the world. Mom will be greatly missed by her family, friends and acquaintances, especially Betty Hughes and Bonnie Tuel. Viewing will be Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9th, 11:00am, at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Family and friends are welcome to enjoy a luncheon celebration following the services.
