Albert Al Gould, 80, of Umatilla, OR died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at Kadlac Hospital in Richland, WA. in the arms of his loving family. Al was born October 19, 1925 in Dearborn, Michigan to Earl and Theresa Gould. Al worked for Dow Chemical Company in Midland, MI for 18 years. After one year at Dow at the age of 18, he enlisted in the 239th Army Air Force Base Unit to defend our country during WWII. When discharged from the military he continued his employment at Dow in Michigan for 17 more years. He transferred in 1962 to the new Dow Plant in Kalama, WA. and retired after 28 years total with Dow. He continued to work but in the carpentry business for another 10 years in Arizona and Tri-Cities area. Lastly, he retired at Penford Products in Richland where he worked 12 years. Al graduated from Coleman High School in Coleman, MI then married his High School sweetheart, Florence Roebuck when she graduated on June 20, 1944 in Madison, WI. They raised 5 children. Al was preceded in death by brother, Howard and his parents Earl and Theresa Gould. Al is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence E. Gould; daughter, Sandy and husband, Frank Maloney of Battle Ground, WA.; son, Dick Gould and wife Carrie of Martinez, CA.; daughter, Diane and husband, Merle Smith of Wapato, WA; daughter Linda and husband Dave of Longview, WA; and son David Gould and wife Janey of Umatilla, OR. Also, he is survived by 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Al will live in his families'memories as a builder of our homes, our wonderful camping trips, fishing and boating on the lakes and rivers. The many stories of mom and dad's travels in their motor home throughout Alaska and the U.S.
