Adam James Lieuallen, 42, of Richland, WA died peacefully January 22, 2026 after a 5-year battle with cancer. He was born December 18, 1983 in Vancouver, WA to Jim and Jill Lieuallen. He attended Hudsons Bay High School and after moving to Kennewick, WA, graduated from Kennewick High School in 2002. He went to WSU where he spent 4 years on the Pullman Campus and an additional 2 years at WSU Spokane where he graduated with a Bachelor in Landscape Architecture.

Summer jobs found him at McLaughlin Landscaping in Pendleton, OR, at Beaver Bark and Rock in Richland or on the Moore family Wheat farm for harvest with Uncles Ernie and Chris Moore in Moro, OR, living with his Grandmother Patricia Moore. For a time after graduation he worked for AHBL in Tacoma, WA as a planning assistant and designer and at TERRABELLA in Spokane, WA installing landscape design.

Concert and Marching Band were a big part of Adam's school years. He marched in back-to-back Rose Parades playing Trombone in 2002 for Kennewick High School and again in 2003 with the Cougar Marching Band who played Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl. Favorite concert music in High School and College was the music of Holst (The Planets) and Aaron Copeland. While on the Pullman Campus he played for every Graduation.

A part time job at Hedges Family Estate became full time and Adam was Logistics Manager at the Winery Warehouse for a number of years; plus filling in during Grape harvest in the fields or where ever needed. He loved going to work. Throughout his illness Adam was treated with such respect and kindness by the Hedges family and co-workers.

The great outdoors held Adam's attention. His passion was long distance running and until his cancer he ran in Spokane's Bloomsday plus Marathons and Half-Marathons in Seattle and Bend. Biking and Skiing, Hunting and Hiking were favorites in Season. Skydiving at the Ritzville, WA Drop Zone became very important in his life. The lasting friendships and the freedom he felt in flight took him far away from worries. He never stopped pursuing everything that life had to offer. His last skydive was last October, the end of the year for the D Z.

Adam learned woodworking from his dad. Only 20 when Jim died, he completed many projects over the years including gates and fences and furniture—each piece different in character from the previous one. In 2001 Jim and Adam began restoring a 1951 International Harvester Farmall Cub tractor that came off the Moore family farm It was transformed into a bright red beauty that looked brand new by 2004.

There is a saying that a tree is best measured when down. And so, it is with Adam. His life reached so many people. He was blessed with many friends who stood by him; meeting at games or to ski, movie nights and barbeques. And by family who knew all the sweet spots in his life.

Adam is survived by his mother, Jill Moore Lieuallen. He was preceded in death by his father Jim Lieuallen.

A memorial will be held May 16, 2026 at the Moro, OR Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be served after the service.
