    W. Ken Berry

    December 2, 1950 - April 12, 2022

Tribute By Jeff We lost the Patriarch of our family last night. William Kenton Berry who held several titles, his proudest being Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle, etc. because he was all about the most important thing in life…family. There are so many types of love and he mastered them all. This August 14th, my parents would've been married 48 years. Their marriage is what a real marriage is all about; for richer or poorer, in sickness or health, families are forever. They created so much together, adopted 3 children of their own and that unconditional love continued for decades through their children, 2 daughters in-law, a son in-law, and 6 grandchildren. We saw it first hand the way they interacted with each other, the way our mom cared for our dad in sickness and the way he expressed his appreciation. It's not until you become a parent yourself that you can truly understand how much your parents love you. Our dad exuded his love through words, but more, through his actions. He was the get on the ground and roll around, go outside and play, never miss a game or concert or recital, take you fishing, hunting, camping, four wheeling kind of dad. He taught us how to work hard, follow your dreams and if you fall down, you get up. He was our biggest supporter/fan, and encouraged us to always give our best no matter what. He used to always tell us "respect all, fear none" and "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". As kids, we never had to worry about a roof over our heads, food was on the table, clothes on our backs. He gave us everything and he couldn't have been a better Dad. Bailie was the first grandchild, followed by Tailor, Payton, Logan, Blakely, and Holly. They meant the world to their Papa! They gave him hope, happiness, and they gave him motivation to fight the fight. Nothing brought Papa more joy than attending their activities, getting a hug or fist bump, or just hearing their voices, laughter, and smiles. We are grateful he was able to have a relationship with all of his grandchildren. William Kenton Berry was a man of integrity and honesty and the most humble and selfless man I've ever known. He is someone we should strive to be like. His legacy will live on forever through all of us and the many lives he touched. He was such an inspiration watching as he battled Huntington's the way he did with his positive, never give up attitude. I'm sure you're up there visiting with you loved ones. Now that you are healthy again, we're sure you're playing on your field of dreams, hitting in the clean up position , about to hit a 400 foot bomb, or refereeing a football game. We love you Dad, can't wait to see you again, and it gives us comfort knowing you are in a better place. Thank you for all you did and for the memories.
