Obituary

Wanda Jean Schaben, from Kennewick, WA passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday, April 8, 2017. Born August 19, 1942 in Niangua, Mo to Pearl and Evelyn (Shannon) Erb, she was the older sister to Connie and Kenneth. In 1950, the Erb family moved to a pastoral farm outside of Bazine, Kansas, where Wanda met Troy Schaben, the precocious, disruptive little boy in her first grade class who would become her high school sweetheart, and eventually her husband. They were married on January 14, 1961, after graduating Bazine High School in 1960. During their 56-year marriage, Wanda and Troy raised four children as they moved from Kansas to Texas to Maryland, and finally settled in Kennewick, WA in 1974. Her family gave her the most joy and happy memories. She treasured family vacations to the ocean, where she felt closest to God. Wanda loved to tell people about Jesus Christ and will be remembered as a prayer warrior by all of her family and friends. Wanda is survived by her husband Troy; three daughters Robin, Carmen, DeeLyn; son Troy Tod; granddaughters Jocelyn, Kristyn, Faith; grandsons Connor, Terrell, Logan, Ty; great grandchildren Cheshire & Jack. A graveside service will be held at Kennewick's Desert Lawn Memorial Park, on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 1pm. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers made to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 1480 Fowler Street, Richland, WA 99352; http://chaplaincyhealthcare.org/donors.
