Tommy Ono was born April 27,1927 and passed away on December 2, 2016. He was a life long resident of Pasco and attended Pasco High School. After high school, he joined the United States Army where he served his Country in World War II. Following his military service, he worked at Northern Pacific Ice House as an ice handler for many years until it closed for business. Afterward, he went to welding college to start a second career as a Pipefitter with Local 598 at Hanford where He continued to work until his retirement. Tommy will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He had a kind heart and was proud of his family. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a fond love of camping-especially when it was time for Fish Camp and Elk Camp in the Tucannon where he was considered the Master Fire Builder of Campfires. He loved taking photos to capture all the fun times and joys of his life. You could always count on Tommy to bring the best desserts, pies, cakes, and donuts to any function. Tommy is survived by his brother Jimmy (Delores), his sister Fumi, and many nieces and nephews and loved by everyone. He is preceded in death by his parents Sawayo and Toshio Ono, sister Toni, and brothers Bobby, Frank, Johnny, and Harry. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home at 1608 W. Court St., Pasco, WA and a graveside service will be held following afterward at City View Cemetery in Pasco.
