Thelma Mae Anderson Breymeyer passed to be with her Lord and her loving husband Dill on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Richland. Thelma was born in Wamego, Kansas on November 17, 1912, the fifth of six children born to Eva Weddle and Thomas I. Anderson. They lived on a small farm outside of Wamego, Kansas where Thelma grew up and went through high school, graduating in 1930 at the top of her class. When she was sixteen, a fellow who had dated her older sister Gladys, wrote Thelma a letter asking her for a date. Thelma said "yes", and she and Lawrence Henry Breymeyer everybody called him 'Dill' because he always had a jar of dill pickles in his car, began the courtship that led to their marriage on July 17, 1932. Dill and Thelma lived in Manhattan, Kansas where their three sons were born, Larry D. Breymeyer Pasco June 1, 1934, deceased November 13, 1974, James H Breymeyer Yakima, retired farmer and former educator, Gerald T. Breymeyer Houston, Texas, educator twins born March 10, 1939. Dill was an auto mechanic while Thelma stayed home and took care of the boys. After the war was over in June of 1946, Thelma and family moved to the refreshing area of Naches, Washington where Dill worked for the local Chevrolet dealership as their service manager and mechanic and Thelma worked for the local bank. The Chevrolet dealership moved to the Pasco area in 1959 and Thelma and Dill moved with them living in the Pasco area. Thelma enjoyed working for the Richland branch of Bank of America as a teller and bookkeeper until she retired in 1976. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing she handmade most all of her own clothes, needlepoint, embroidery, and was an avid reader until her eyesight began to fail so she listened to "talking books". She especially enjoyed the company of all of her 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren when the families could get together during holidays or special summer picnics. After her husband Dill passed away in March of 1988, she decided that she would like to spend the last years at the Royal Columbian Retirement Inn, where she spent 12 wonderful years with her new retirement family. Thelma is survived by her twin sons James H. Breymeyer of Yakima, and Gerald T. Breymeyer of Houston, Texas, daughter-in-law Sylvia Platt Breymeyer of Pasco, and 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Breymeyer, son Larry D. Breymeyer, sister Gladys Anderson Fridley, and brothers George Anderson, Earl Anderson, Edward Anderson, and Oscar Anderson. A private family Memorial Service will be held.
