Obituary

Tana Cherrie (Claycomb) Carpenter was born on December 23, 1943 in Wendell, Idaho, to George Pearle Claycomb and Virginia June (Rice) Claycomb. She passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 in Kennewick, WA.

She was the third child out of five. They moved to Kennewick when she was 3 years old. Then the family moved to California for work when she was in sixth grade. While in California she lost her dad to cancer at 14 years old. Her mother then moved the family back to Kennewick in Tana's Sophmore year. Tana graduated from Kennewick High School (Class of 1962).

Tana Married the love of her life, Russell Carpenter in 1963 in Kennewick, Wa and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for Time and All Eternity with their 3 children in 1973.

Tana's had a great career raising her three Children. She worked multiple jobs that helped her be there for them. As they got older she spent time working within the Kennewick School District as a special needs Teachers Aide.

Tana was a dedicated loving wife and the most amazing mother a kid could ever have. She taught her kids and grandkids by her example. Family meant everything to her. She was a great friend to all who knew her. Tana had a true faith in her religion and enjoyed service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tana enjoyed many activites in her lifetime: Aerobics, jogging, sewing, scrapbooking, reading books, playing card games and doing crafts. She was always willing to try new things. She loved taking trips with her husband Russell on his motorcycle and traveling to Hawaii, cruises to Alaska and Bahama's. In one of her adventures in Hawaii, when she was 72 yrs old she went zip lining.

Tana is survived by her 3 Children: Lesly (Mark) Wall, Ken (Lisa) Carpenter, Wendi (Steve) Flanary; 13 grandchildren: Cassie (Dominic), Daniel (Joni), Jared (TyAnn), Corey, Samantha, Courtney (Tyler), Riley, Cirstin, Marisa, Bryan (Brie), Heather (Zach), Breanne (Tony) and Leah. 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters: Judy Fogelman, Aloha (Pete) Rath; sisters-in-laws: Loretta Claycomb, Terry Richter, Paulette Edwards and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded Tana in passing was her loving husband Russell of 51 years. Her parents, George Pearle Claycomb and Virginia June (Rice) Claycomb; in-laws, Russell & Doris Carpenter; brothers, Michael (Jim) Claycomb, Fred Claycomb; brothers-in-law; Walt Fogelman, Rod Plante, Neil Richter; sister-in-law; Donna PlanteQ
