November 25, 1941 - January 15, 2011 Susan Maurine Brunton went peacefully into our Lords hands on Saturday the 15 of January, 2011 at the age of 69. She was born in Boise, Idaho, on November 25, 1941 to Louise Olive and Claude Milo Slattery and so named Mary Josephine. At the age of 11 she was adopted by William and Lois Price of Hailey, Idaho who then changed her name to Susan Maurine Price. She spent most of her childhood and teen years on her adopted parents 1, 000 acre cattle ranch. Attended grade and high school in Hailey and loved the beauty of the area. At the age of 18 she moved back to Boise, Idaho where she then got married and had her 4 children. In 1979 she became a volunteer Marriage Coordinator for the Idaho State Corrections Board. In 1983 she worked at the Women and Children's Crisis Center in Boise, Idaho as a domestic violence counselor and house a superivsor. In 1985 she moved to Mackay, Idaho and went to work for the Countryside Living Center as a house supervisor and counselor. She enjoyed her work and loved the opportunity to help others. It was her true calling. In 1989 she moved to Kennewick, Washington, where she met and married her husband Richard P Brunton in 1996. She enjoyed her retirement and spent many quiet days scrap booking, redecorating her house and playing cards with her husband and friends. She always had a small dog or two that were her babies and loyal companions. Her pride and joy was to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She instilled such strength, generosity and the meaning of life in all of us. She truley touched our hearts and will be more than missed. She is survived by her husband Richard P. Brunton of Kennewick, WA; her children Robert T. Evans of Boise, ID., Mark E. Evans Liessa of Everett, WA., James M. Evans Kimberly of Summerville, SC., Kristina M. Sumner Kent of Kennewick, WA., stepdaughter Kimberly Girdler Joe of East Wenatchee, WA., 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Her brothers Gary Price Laren of Hailey, ID, Bob Slattery Marie of Steilacomb, WA and sister Linda Barker Ken of Fairbanks, AK. Services will be held at Mueller's Chapel of the Falls in Kennewick, Washington on Saturday the 29 of January at 10 a.m.
