May 12, 1951 - November 8, 2021
Susan Folker Lowery's four-year bout with Multiple Myeloma came to its sad conclusion on Monday, November 8th. Sue passed peacefully in her Kennewick home, leaving her family and friends, to be more directly in God's hands. Sue was born in Ross, CA and grew up in Mill Valley, some 20 miles north of San Francisco. As a youth, she enjoyed sailing and boating in the SF Bay and Sacramento Delta, as well as swimming, boating, and fishing the lakes of the Sierra Buttes with her family and friends on their annual vacation outings. At home, she enjoyed helping her father in his construction and landscaping work. Following her school days, Sue worked for 20+ years with Pacific Telephone and ATandT. She met her future husband, Pat, during this time. After several years of courting, they married in 1982. Four years later, she and Pat moved to Kennewick, where they have resided to this day. Sue worked as a stay-at-home mom, providing love and support to their three kids during their childhood. She really enjoyed supporting them at their ball games, Camp Fire, and Scouting activities during this time. Once they were off to college, she was able to build off the construction and landscaping knowledge she gained in working with her father, and applied it to her work as a real estate agent in the Tri-Cities. Next to raising her kids though, her most rewarding vocation was working as a payroll and HR specialist for Tradewind Services. She remained devoted to this position until her bout with cancer required her to fully address that malady. Sue's lifelong avocation was gardening. She had a keen eye for the placement, care, and feeding of plants … particularly roses and orchids. She really enjoyed the English-garden style sections she was able to create in her backyard. She also enjoyed the evenings spent with her friends, rolling the dice in hopes of exclaiming Bunko! Sue was preceded in death by her father (Howard). She is survived by her mother (Erdie), sister (Ann), husband of nearly 40 years (Pat), and children (Meghan, Gregg, and Katie). Funeral arrangements have been made with Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick. No local funeral service in the Tri-Cities is planned. However, if you wish, remembrances may be provided to Sue's page on Mueller's website. The link for that is www.muellersfuneralhomes.com/obituaries . A semi-private service in Mill Valley, CA is currently planned for the July 2022 timeframe, to be held in the church where she and Pat were married. Sue was very thankful for the care she received at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and the Tri-City Cancer Center. Her favorite charities were Guide Dogs for the Blind and the International Myeloma Foundation. If inclined, contributions to any of these organizations would be very much appreciated.
