It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth M. Judkins (Aunt Ruth) announces her passing on August 22, 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 60 years. Aunt Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 17 years, Lloyd, son Jeromy, mother Leah, and sisters and brothers Connie (Larry), Mike (Linda), Debbie (David), and Rick (Miriam). Ruth will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends. Ruth is preceded in death by her father Richard Voorhies and nephew Richard Voorhies Jr. Aunt Ruth was born in Shelby, Montana, on January 15, 1957. She moved to Washington in 1984 where she built many memories with her family and friends. She taught us how to shoot archery, fish, hunt, drive, farm, and how to eat a watermelon the right way - tossing it on the ground and eating the heart! In 2000, Aunt Ruth married her best friend, Lloyd, and they traveled to many places. She kept a rock from each place she visited as a story of where she'd touched. But it was Aunt Ruth who had a way of touching the places she'd been and the lives of everyone she met with her big heart, warm smile, and contagious laugh! Aunt Ruth and Uncle Lloyd built their home in the Blue Mountains where many family and friends visited to enjoy the view from the deck, feeding the wild deer and turkeys, four-wheeling on the Gator, watching movies in front of the fire place, sledding in the snow, and just enjoying the simple pleasures of chatting and spending time together. A Celebration of Life for Ruth will be held at Life Church 7, 1110 Stevens Dr., Richland, WA, Saturday, September 9th, 2017, at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the same location.
