Ruby Wahl was born on June 2, 1921, to Gottlieb and Katherine Stickel Sackman. Through the eighth grade she attended a country school in Prairie County, Montana. She later attended a commercial college at Great Falls, Montana. She then worked for an accounting firm in Great Falls for a few years. On October 27, 1946, she was married to Emil Wahl of Lind, Washington. They farmed on a dry land wheat ranch southeast of Lind until 1974, when they moved to Connell into a house built by their son, Mel. During her lifetime she was very active in her church, Connell Church of the Nazarene. She sang in the choir until age 71 and taught a few years in Sunday School. She was Missionary Treasurer for over 30 years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved her church and her Savior. She is survived by sons Kerry Wahl of Lind, WA; Melvin Wahl and wife Sheryl of Connell, WA; Grandson Dr. Melvin Wahl Jr. and wife Kristy of Richland, WA; Granddaughter Camella Wahl of Seattle, WA; Brother Isidor Sackman and wife Marilyn of Sidney, MT; Sisters Esther Olson of Olathe, Kansas and Rachel Meredith of Flagstaff, Arizona.. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to your favorite charity, Hospice, or made out to the Nazarene Church for Compassionate Ministries.
