Rose Del Conte quietly passed away on August 7, 2006 at the age of 95. Rose, a Kennewick resident the past four years, moved from Florida to be close to family. Rose was born on July 1, 1911 in Virginia, Minnesota. The family moved to Keewatin, Minnesota where her father worked in an underground iron ore mine. Rose married John Geipel, and they lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. John Geipel died on July 28, 1958. Rose was a child care worker in a Milwaukee County orphanage. After retiring in 1969, she moved to New Port Richey, Florida. In Florida, Rose met and married Turido Del Conte in 1971. They made their home in New Port Richey, Florida until Turido?s death on December 7, 1998. Rose remained in Florida until she moved to Kennewick in 2002. Rose is preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Frances Laurich, her husbands, John Geipel and Turido Del Conte, her brothers Matthew and Rudolph Laurich, her sisters Marie Affolter and Angela Kriegbaum. She is survived by her brother Edward Laurich of Wautoma, Wisconsin, her sister Frances Porten of Kennewick; nephews Edward Porten of Clarkston, Washington, James Porten of Auburn, California, and Donald Porten of Kennewick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006 at Saint Joseph?s Catholic Church in Kennewick. Graveside service and interment will be in New Port Richey, Florida. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Emmanuel Care Center for their loving care of Rose.
