Rose A. Tosto went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2012. Rose was born to William W. and Katherine Mack in Spokane, Washington on May 27, 1920. At age 4, Rose and her sister Marie went to live with her grandparents Fred & Hattie Clark. Her grandparents raised and loved them as their own. After Rose graduated from Yakima High School she married William W. Meikle, Sr. He was a tail gunner in the Air Force. They were blessed with three beautiful boys. Towards the end of WWII Bill's plane was shot down, leaving Rose to care for their children alone. In 1946, Rose married Frank T. Tosto, Sr. He was a very loving husband and father who welcomed his new bride and three young boys as his own. Rose was blessed again with two beautiful boys and a beautiful little girl. They were married for 53 years when Dad passed away from complications of Alzheimer's. Mom was an angel. Mom accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in April of 1997 in her home. Mom was a wonderful seamstress and loved to crochet. She also loved planting flowers and pulling weeds. Mom worked as a bookkeeper at Frank City Meats and Tosto's Auto Sales. However, her greatest joy was being a mother. She loved and cared for all her children. She prayed daily for each of her children and grandchildren. Proverbs 31:28 "Her children will rise up and call her blessed; her husband also; and he praiseth her." Mom will be greatly missed, but Heaven gained an angel. Rose is preceded in death by William W. Meikle, Sr. husband; Roger James Meikle, Jr. grandson; Jerry Meikle son; Marie sister; and Frank T. Tosto, Sr. husband. She is survived by sons Roger Meikle, Sr. Nicky, William Meikle, Jr. Peggy, Frank Tosto, Jr. Seville, Rick Tosto Kay; daughter Gina Tosto Votaw Frank; grandchildren Tina Lanning, Barbra Randa, R.J. Meikle, Jasmin Meikle, Todd Meikle, Wendy Overranker, Candy Purdy, Ryan Tosto, Kegan Tosto, Brandon Votaw and Jennifer McMann; 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jim Campbell for all his love and care of our mother. We also thank those at Avalon Rehab and Hospice for their loving care the last six months of her life. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Pastor David Dillsworth will officiate.
