Ronald Hinz of West Richland passed away on May 2, 2022 at the age of 89 years young. His passion for life was an inspiration to many and he will be greatly missed.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Ron earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He enjoyed a long and productive career as a government contractor and ultimately retired from the nuclear industry while at Westinghouse Hanford Company in Richland, WA. In retirement, Ron wasted no time pursuing his love of music and dance. He was a lifelong member and exhibition dancer with the International Folk Dancers of Richland. When he wasn't bouncing to Bulgarian line dances, he could be found at the Eagles Club of Kennewick and Pasco, dancing to big band music until the lights came on. He was especially fond of waltzing. In addition, he enjoyed restoring classic cars and was an active member in the Columbia Basin Corvair Club for more than 30 years.
He is survived by three children Steve, Heather and Ronda, sister Carolyn, and three grandchildren Chris, Brittany, and Michael. A memorial celebration will be held June 25, 2022 at 11:00am at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St, Kennewick, WA 99338. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Pet Overpopulation Prevention Tri-Cities in Pasco or The National Audubon Society in Ron's name.
