Bob passed away at home peacefully at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family on June 1st, 2007. Bob was born at Fort Morgan, Colorado on May 3rd, 1929 to parents Elmer and Jennie Massingale. He attended and graduated from Hover High School in 1948. He served in the Marine Corp in Korea. He married Norma Jean Personett on July 9th, 1950. They lived in Kennewick where Bob was a police office for the City of Kennewick and then a Deputy Sheriff for Benton County. He then became a painter and retired from Westinghouse Hanford, where he was in supervision in June of 1992. Bob and Jean raised four children and remained married until her death November 22, 1993. He married Joanne Flandro in June of 1994. They are members of the Tri-City Country Club and Kennewick Eagles. Bob and Joanne enjoyed their retirement golfing and traveling and enjoyed spending time at their cabin in the Wallowas. Bob was a past member of the Benton County Mounted Posse and he was a charter member of the Horse Heaven Hills Appaloosa Club serving as president for four years. Bob also enjoyed sports. He played on the Marine Corp Traveling Basketball Team in the Far East. Bob attended baseball and basketball games of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also coached basketball and baseball. He enjoyed going to Mariner?s Spring Training and tried not to miss watching a game. He was preceded in death by his sister Katherine; father Elmer; mother Jennie; son Gary; brother Art; wife Jean; sister Darline Wright. He is survived by his wife Joanne; son Robert Juli; daughters Connie Danielle and Bonnie Lamm; sister Carolyn Wirtzberger; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside Services will be at 9:00am, Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, located at 10th & Union, Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob?s name to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice, 2108 W. Entiat Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
