Obituary

Richard Royce ?Dick? Smith of Kennewick, Washington, passed away at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington on February 27, 2006 at the age of 74. Richard was born July 3, 1931 in Williston, North Dakota to Radner and Pearl Smith. He received his early education in Williston, ND. The family moved to Kennewick in 1947 and Dick graduated from Kennewick High School in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Dick was a meat cutter at Safeway for 44 years, retiring in 1993. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Kennewick Lions Club. He is survived by his wife Beverly Smith of Kennewick; Sons Rick Cheryl Smith of Bremerton, WA, Ron Smith, Rodney Smith and Randy Smith all of Kennewick, WA; 10 Grandchildren, 3 Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Mueller?s Chapel of the Falls in Kennewick, Washington. In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations in Dick?s name be made to the American Lung Association of Washington 1817 E. Springfield, Suite E Spokane, WA 99202 or the American Cancer Society 7325 W Deschutes Ave # A Kennewick, WA 99336.
