Richard Charles McAloon, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on September 7, 2011. Richard was born on July 31, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was happily married to his wife Pauline for 60 years. Together they had 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was a talented machinist and retired as a Senior Partner from Pasco Machine Co. Inc. in 1998 after 40 years with the company. Before that he worked for Northern Pacific Rail Yard for ten years. Richard was very active in his community, especially at St Joseph's Church where he was a lector, Eucharistic minister, and 40 year member of both the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also was an Ombudsman for WA State for 12 years. He spent many hours fishing with his family at Chapman Lake. Grandpa always made sure his grandkids had their favorite tasty treat, even if it meant a very early morning trip to the grocery store. He wasn't always a man of many words, but if he took the time to say something you knew it was important. He always had a way of making sure you knew you were loved. Richard is survived by his wife Pauline; daughter Marie; son Michael and wife Jessica; daughter Pat and husband Bill; son Jim and wife Christie; daughter Kathleen; son Bob Warren; sister Kathë and husband Ken, and his 30 grandchildren who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his parents Anna Mary Gilbertson and Charles Joseph; his son Joseph Paul and his great grandson Jasper Warren. A rosary will be held at St Joseph's Church in Kennewick at 12:30 on September 8th, with funeral services to follow at 1:30.
