Raymond Parker passed away from Covid-19 on September 22, 2021 in Kennewick, Washington at the age of 54. He was born October 3, 1966 to Annie Bahe Blackgoat and Willard Parker in Fort Defiance, Navajo Nation, Arizona. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Louisville Kentucky Tennessee mission. He began his college career at BYU before transferring to Utah State where he studied Agriculture Business. He was working on his Master’s through Kansas State. Ray met Marielle Mortensen in Denver, Colorado. After their 3-day engagement, they were married in Hawaii (after an 8 month romance). Shortly after, they moved to the Tri-Cities where they have made their home for the last 23 years. Ray was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and do anything in the outdoors. He loved to paint outdoor scenery and recently won an award at the fair. Ray was a gentle, kind man, who loved his naps. He managed a 300-acre farm for the Navajo Nation. For the last 20 years he worked as an examiner for the USDA. Ray is survived by his wife, Marielle; his children; Diedre Parker (32), Dalton Parker (27) and Audrey Monet Parker (15); his mother, Annie Blackgoat; his granddaughter, Stella Parker; his siblings, Wade, Loretta, Lois, Floyd, Vernita and Laverne. He was a foster child through the LDS church’s educational foster program. He was loved by the Brown family and is survived by this second family, including, his foster mom, Gloria (Brown) Day and their children, Teresa, Blain, Tamara, Lana, Ronald and Valerie. He was preceded in death by his father, Willard; his sister, Flora and foster father, Roger Brown. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Union Building in Kennewick, Washington. Please join us in -person or via Zoom: meeting ID: 992 8081 3976. Visitation will be at the church at noon. Interment will be at the Fort Defiance Cemetery, Navajo Nation, Arizona.
