Peter J. Nunez passed away on September 9, 2007 in Kennewick, Washington. He was the eldest son of five children born on June 28, 1929 to Jose and Maria Miranda Nunez in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Peter?s mother died when he was 8 years old and his father married Soledad Olivas Nunez from which 6 loving brothers and sisters were born. He lived the last 57 years in the Tri-Cities with his loving wife and family. Peter was married to Adelaida ?Della? Nunez on October 7, 1951 until her death in 1996. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He retired in 1984 from the Carpenters Local Union 1849 as a master carpenter whose work was described as skilled, sturdy and precise. We will truly miss his dry sense of humor, his quick wit, his love of politics and the ability to embellish a story on any given occasion! Oh how he loved to go camping, cut weeds and chop wood. He devoted his carpentry skills to his church and charitable organizations if needed. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Denise & David Ostergaard of Kennewick, Rachel & Johnny Johnston of Tenino, WA.; son and daughter-in-law Peter J. & Linda A. Nunez of Kennewick; grandchildren, Bryan & Nikki Ostergaard, Brad & Freedom Ostergaard, Anna Ostergaard & Brandon Ostergaard, Aiesa & Leandra Johnston, Peter Joseph Nunez; great grandchildren Bricen, Brient, Addison & Nya; three loving sisters; one brother; several nephews, nieces, in-laws, cousins and friends. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007 from 3 - 8pm at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick and on Saturday from 9 - 10:45am. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15th, at 11am, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick. Following the Graveside Service a Memorial Service will be at 12:00p.m. at Columbia Community Church, 150 Gage Blvd. in Richland with Pastor Jerry Marvel officiating.
