Peter F. Landoni, 84 years old, went to be with the Lord August 6, 2008. He was surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born July 1st, 1924 in Walla Walla, Washington to Charles and Teresa Landoni. He attended school in Walla Walla, worked on the family farm, and joined the Army in 1943 serving in World War II in Europe. Returning home from the war he worked for Locati Motors, drove truck for Pacific Fruit, then started working for Pacific Northwest Bell, retiring after 35 years. He married his sweetheart Eleanor Loiacono September 21, 1947 and they enjoyed 60 years together. They moved to Pasco in 1955 where they raised their three children. In his early years, many weekends were spent in the company of his family in Walla Walla. Countless hours of laughter and love are credited for the strong foundation that his family was built upon. Later in life, you would find him closer to home. He greatly enjoyed the time he spent fishing with his family, tending to his yard work, overseeing his grandsons mowing abilities, and playing golf. You would find Pete on the golf course no less than four days a week, weather permitting. He shared his love of the game with his sons, grandsons, and many dear friends. Pete was a proud member of his community. He belonged to the Pasco Lion's Club and was able to participate in taking tickets at Columbia Park during the early days of the Boat Races and assisted in the fireworks displays that for many years were held at Edgar Brown Stadium. Pete enjoyed being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a great supporter of his family and could always be counted on. He attended many sporting events, activities, and family celebrations over the years. His sense of humor, wit, and good nature were appreciated by all. He has left us with many little sayings that will forever bring smiles and laughter into our lives. His kindness and friendship has been felt by those who have been blessed to know him. Where much is given, much is learned and he leaves his family and friends with more than we can express. He will be greatly missed as a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Josephine Tate. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Landoni of Pasco; two sons, Don and wife Karen of Pasco, Pete and wife Suzanne of Beaverton Oregon; daughter Cheryl Knotts and husband Keith of Walla Walla; brothers Tony, Angelo Dutch Carl and Lawrence Landoni of Walla Walla. His grandchildren, Steve Lisa Landoni, Rachael Kent Sanders of Pasco, Amy Jason Buchanan of Kennewick, Annie Justin Goff, Zachary Knotts of Walla Walla, David and Katie Landoni of Beaverton Oregon. He also has ten great grandchildren who were so blessed to have had him in their lives. Services will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Pasco on Thursday, August 14th. Rosary will begin at 10 a.m., Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Kadlec Foundation, dedicated to the Critical Care Unit or the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
