Nancy Ann (Cotta) Carson, 73, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2012, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, from complications following heart surgery. Nancy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph Carson of Kennewick and a daughter, Denise Leeth of Visalia, California. She is also survived by her brother E.C. John Cotta, Jr. of Nevada; sisters Edith Anderies of Pacifica, California; Bernadine Manñon, Delphina Higginbotham, Carmina South, and Margaret Ludwig, all of Visalia, California. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sallie Worden and husband Larry of Kennewick, and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Nancy very much. She had been a resident of Kennewick for the past 12-1/2 years. Nancy was born July 13, 1939 in Visalia, California, to Eziquel Cheulo "John" Cotta and Delphina Cotta, and was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Richard Cotta. Nancy was a devout Catholic and loved the Lord Jesus. At Christmastime she would place a banner in her window proclaiming "Happy Birthday, Jesus" so it is fitting that she went to be with Him on the day we celebrate His birth. Nancy was very active in Holy Spirit Parish and her work for the Lord, serving as a secretary in the parish office; she was the go-to person when her expertise was needed. Nancy conducted a weekly prayer group at Parkview Estates, and showed her love for God's creatures in so many ways. She was actively involved in assisting Christian refugee families get settled into their new lives. Nancy had a beautiful singing voice, and was accomplished at crocheting. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Anne Court. In her 40s and 50s, Nancy ran half-marathons and participated in many fun runs. In later years she was either out for her walks or exercising at the fitness center. She was office manager for her husband's dental office for many years when she and Joe lived in Portland. Services for Nancy will be Saturday, December 29 at the Parish of the Holy Spirit, 7409 W. Clearwater, Kennewick, Washington, with the Holy Rosary at 10:00 a.m., then a pictorial tribute and a time for personal testimony, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow at the Parish Community Center. As the years go by, it is Nancy's wish that she be remembered at the Table of the Lord.
