Minta Marie (Hutchens) DePue, 72 of Kennewick, passed away September 28, 2017. She was born January 30, 1945 in Walla Walla, Washington. She would be the first of three children born to Bryan and Minta Hutchens. Minta married the love of her life, David DePue, on September 11, 1965. Little did they realize that date would become a trend. Starting with her brother, Leonard (Janis) September 11, 1971, her brother James (Christine) September 11, 1999, her niece Tiffini (Rodney) September 11, 2003, and her niece Julie (Vincent) September 11, 2006. She was an inspiration to many and loved by all who knew her. Minta worked at the Tri-City Herald for 46 years before retiring. Many people knew her for her love of Christmas decorating. Her home would be a beacon in the night and if you stood still for too long you may end up decorated as well! Her Christmas lights even made the newspaper a couple of times. Minta was the one who remembered everything; holidays, birthdays, etc…if there was an occasion that needed celebrating she would make sure it happened! She loved shoes, cooking, gambling, pinochle, camping, NASCAR, the Seahawks, and the Mariners. More than anything Minta loved her family. She had big hair and an even bigger personality! Minta is survived by her husband David DePue, brother Leonard (Janis) Hutchens, brother James Hutchens, niece Julie (Vincent) Alvarado, niece Tiffinni (Rodney) Halka, brother-in-law Ken (Shar) DePue, and brother-in-law John DePue. She was preceded in death by her parents Bryan and Minta Hutchens.
