Michael Sloan Wilson
November 12, 1960 - February 3, 2021
Michael S. Wilson 1960-2021 Michael's early years were spent alternately in the United States and in Japan. His parents were Machiko and Ted Sloan. In 1966, Machiko brought Michael and four siblings to the United States. After two more moves, they ended up in Detroit, Michigan, where Ted's parents lived. Although Machiko and Ted separated, his parents continued to be a part of their lives. In November, 1968, Machiko and her youngest child, Sean, were killed in a car accident. Michael and his brother Dennis were placed in foster care. The grandparents were elderly, and the grandfather had a heart condition, so they didn't feel that they could offer the boys a permanent home. They were adopted by Douglas and Mary Kay Wilson, and joined them in Ohio, where they also acquired two younger sisters. Michael's two passions were music and fishing. He was an accomplished guitarist, and an enthusiastic fisherman. Michael is survived by his widow, Kathy/Jami Wilson, by his parents, and by siblings Patty Rogers (Woody), Suzy Schober (Tom), Dennis Wilson (Julie), Mari Schay (Alex), and Kim Wilson.
