Maxine Elizabeth Howard, 83, passed peacefully in her sleep, with her hands clasped in prayer when she was found in her bed by her eldest son. She was born on May 7, 1923 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Garold Acorn and Velma Ormsbee. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Maxine?s passions were her family, her gardens and the Women of the Moose; she was a member of the Richland Chapter since 1965 and held every office there is in that organization and was voted Co-worker of the Year in 2006 by them. She was always ready to help when the call came; she always kept an eye out for the youth in the Community as well as adults who may have needed a hand. Many of the youth she watched are now adults living in West Richland and remember when Maxine set them straight if they were getting out of line and praise ready to give those deserving it. Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband, Radphord Howard, and her second husband, Louis D. Martin and will be laid to rest beside her first husband. She is survived by her sons, Radphord-Leon Diana Howard, Sr. and Cecil Eugene Beverly Howard; sister, Reba Howard; five grandchildren, Lisa Jacob, Robin Haight, Tammy Scovel, Radphord-Leon Howard Jr. and Tonia Corrigan; fifteen great-grandchildren; fourteen nephews and eight nieces. Viewing will be Friday, April 27, 2007, 5-8pm and Saturday, April 28th, 9-10am at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St., Kennewick, Washington. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 28th, 10am at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home followed by Interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park 10th & Union, Kennewick.
