Max Joseph Gonzales January 1, 1940 – December 18, 2015 Max Joseph Gonzales was born on January 1, 1940 to Valentin and Antonia Gonzales in Powell, Wyoming. He was the youngest of five children. Max grew up in Powell, Wyoming where he met the love of his life, of 57 years, Julie Gonzales. Eventually they both would end up getting married and have four blessings of their own, Son Max Jr and daughters Jennie Lee, Joann and Angie Gonzales. Max and his family moved from Powell, Wyoming to Warden, Washington in 1965 where he became a hard working family man to provide for his loving family. At that time he was working for Haakon "Hank" Thomsen and T & R Farms. Max thought the world of his boss, Hank. He often said that Hank was like a second father because he learned so much from him. Max continued working for T & R Farms for approximately 33 years until he was disabled from heart disease. He continued fighting the disease up until 2014, where he was faced with another challenge, cancer. Max bravely fought back against cancer and ended up beating it in December of 2014. Even though he was victorious over cancer, the chemo treatments Max had to go through had weakened his heart drastically. Months later, Max would soon pass away on December 18, 2015 from Congestive Heart Failure. Besides his family and grandchildren, his joy and passion in life was to travel back to Wyoming and Idaho to visit family and friends back home. On the way home he would stop by his two favorite places in the world, the wilderness and animal life of West Yellowstone and the soothing waves of Westport Beach. Max is survived by his wife Julie; son Max Jr (Odulia); daughters Angie, Jennie Lee, and Joann; his brother Pete (Cristina) of Pasco, WA; his loving grandchildren Anthony, Nicholas, Conrad, Bianca and Jennifer, also along with numerous nieces and nephews. Max is preceded in death by his lovely granddaughter, Ashley Marie Gonzales of Pasco, WA; sister Helen Ramirez; brothers Domingo Gonzales, Julian Gonzales and his parents Valentin and Antonia Gonzales of Powell, Wyoming. Max, we will always love and miss you and will forever remain in our hearts as a part of us went with you the day you were called Home. We will always cherish the memories we've had with you during your stay here on earth and never forgot them. Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end; it simply means we will all miss you until we meet again. The rosary will be Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 5:30 pm at St. Patrick's. The Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's, with inurnment to follow at City View Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Patrick's after the inurnment.
