Obituary

Mavis Buck was born in Menahga, Minnesota and graduated high school March 27, 1947. She continued her education at NW School of Agriculture, Crookston, Minnesota, and French's Business College 1947. She studied at Columbia Basin College from 1960-1970, learning about Economics, Business Law, Human Relations, Accounting, and honing her secretarial skills. For twenty five years (1947-1972) she worked as a secretary for various attorneys, U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, Veterans Administration Hospital, and Hanford Atomic Products Operation Contractors. Mavis spent her life in service of God and her family. She had a faith in God and loyalty to family that directed every day of her life. She was an active member of Kings of Kings Lutheran Church and held offices for Lutheran Women's Missionary League for over 20 years. She had weekly bible classes in her home after retirement and placed flowers on the altar in church from her own garden, until she could no longer garden. She leaves behind four children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. All who spent time with her were touched for life. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, 1:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick.
