Mary Dohaniuk passed away peacefully on April 29, 2014 at the age of 92, in Kennewick, Washington. Mary was born in Gorham, North Dakota on July 2, 1921 to Nick and Polly Palahniuk. Their farming family included her sisters, Sophie Mattice, Eva Nickerson, Regina Peavy, Anna Delong and Emma Gardner. Also included were brothers, Fred, Albert, Pete, Mike, Carl, Lester and Ben. Later the family moved to the Sandpoint, Idaho area, where she met her late husband, Herman. The couple moved to the Tri-Cities in 1948 and were married for almost 50 years with sons, Lee, Raymond and John. Besides a number of great-grandchildren, the grandchildren are Michelle Dodroe, Tracy Cearns, Dawn King, Jeffrey Dohaniuk, Brett Dohaniuk, Christopher Dohaniuk and Trenton Dohaniuk. Mary was a hard working supportive homemaker, who loved her gardens and especially the flowers. She took pride in her work and was a devoted wife and loving mother. Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Location is the Desert Lawn Memorial Park at 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, Washington.
