Mary Alene Mitchell, 80, passed away at home October 3, 2009. She was born November 10, 1928 to Ernest and Joy Saunders in Clearwater, Idaho She was raised on the Red River Ranch near Elk City until moving to Harpster, Idaho to attend school in Stites then Grangeville schools. She married the love of her life, Al Mitchell, June 2, 1947 in Lewiston, Idaho. They moved to Kennewick in the early ?50?s then back to Grangeville until 2004 to be near family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Joy Saunders, brother Arden Saunders, grandson Cody Mitchell, great-granddaughter Samantha Buckenberger and niece Shelley Rensink. She is survived by her husband Al, son Rick ?R.D.? Mitchell & wife Sue, grandson Cord Mitchell & wife Caroline, granddaughters Casey Mitchell, Christy & husband Cam Buckenberger, Cori & husband Andy McFadden; and ten great-grandchildren, all of Kennewick. Daughter Debra Ewles & husband Jim, four grandchildren James, Jesse, Jordan and Jillian, of Ontario, Canada. Sister and brother-in-law Erna & Joe Sproul, brother Orrin Saunders, also of Kennewick. Mary and Al were lifetime members of the Lutheran church. Grandma was loved by all of us and we know we were loved deeply by her. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 2:00pm, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th & Union Street, Kennewick. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice House at The Chaplaincy 2108 W.
