Marvin "Marv" Osborne was born on August 21, 1934 in Kearney, Nebraska. His parents, Marvin C. and Iva Osborne moved the family to Kennewick, Washington in May, 1944. Marv graduated from Kennewick High School in 1952. He met and fell in love with Joan Ryan. They were married at Kennewick Methodist Church on June 4, 1954. Their boys, Ken and Keith, were born in 1955 and 1961. Marv enjoyed racing at Tri-Cities Raceways with his sons as helpers. Marv enjoyed being a scout leader and helping to start "Grid Kids" in the Kennewick area. The family did a lot of camping and fishing throughout the Northwest. Marv and Joan started into business in 1964 as Marv's Petroleum Service, installing service stations and working on petroleum equipment. The business evolved to become Marv's Tri-City Paints. Through the years Marv was a member of the Kennewick Junior Chamber of Commerce, where he held many local and state offices. Marv and Joan belonged to the Tri-City Country Club for 25 years and he held the office of president for two years. 30 years later Marv and Joan retired and became full time RV'ers, traveling the U.S. and Canada stopping to visit their family along the way. Marv and Joan wintered in California for 10 years, where they made many new friends and golfing became a bigger part of their lives. Marv and Joan purchased a home at the Village of Canyon Lakes, enjoying time with their family, renewing their friendships plus volunteering. Marv volunteered at the Cancer Center Men's Club and the Safe Harbor Crisis Nursery. He served as president of the Canyon Lakes Homeowner's Association. Marv continued to pursue golf, his favorite past time, at Canyon Lakes Golf Course. Marv is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Osborne, son Keith Osborne, grandchildren Paul Osborne, Jackie Osborne, Trisha Osborne, Christopher (Hannah) Osborne, and great granddaughter, Jolene. He has many cousins in Nebraska and has enjoyed attending the family reunions throughout the years. Marv passed away on December 23, 2014. Services will be held at Kennewick First United Methodist Church, 2 South Dayton Street, Kennewick on January 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kennewick First United Methodist Church or Tri City Cancer Center.
