Mark was born May 7th, 1951 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula MT to Avis and Joseph Cyr of Milltown MT. The family Moved to Auburn WA. when he was 6 weeks old, where his father was employed by the Northern Pacific Railroad. They lived there for 10 years after which the Cyr Family transferred with the Railroad to Livingston MT. They moved from there to Centralia WA. and transferred to Pasco WA. after three years. Mark attended JR High and High School in Pasco. During High School Mark worked changing irrigation pipe before and after school and was employed by the Northern Pacific Railroad. After Graduating Pasco High School Mark continued to work for the R.R. and attended CBC for a degree in Computer Science. Which was interrupted by the Vietnam war. He volunteered in the Army and was accepted to the Signal Corp school at Fr. Monmouth. NJ. where he trained for 9 months with further training at Kessler AFB Biloxi MS. After Training he was Stationed in Germany working on building of Microwave Communication sites. After the Army he returned home to Pasco where he went back to his job on the RR. He worked as a Trainman. In 1991 he graduated from Columbia Basin College with a AS Degree in Computer Science Mark always helped the family especially his Mom and Dad. He took on a lot of responsibility. Mark never met a Stranger He showed great compassion for people in need and was a Devout Catholic. He over came many challenges in life with the help of his faith. He was a Third Order Franciscan where he made so many wonderful Faithfull friends. One of the events that profoundly affected him was when the Praying for an end to abortion outside Planned Parenthood and a young woman asked him to help her, because she didn't want to have an Abortion and he helped her find that help. After he retired and even before he volunteered with Prison ministry, and the St. Vincent DePaul food bank. He loved assisting at Mass and was extremely generous to everyone. Mark loved all of his nieces and nephews and they all have a favorite story about their Uncle Mark he was so proud to become a great uncle to all of their children. The Greats loved their Uncle Mark. He is proceeded in death by his parents Avis and Joe Cyr and Brother-in-Law Steven Quentin. He is survived by his Sister, Suzanne Quentin her children Christopher Quentin and Kathryn Sturgeon. His Sister Juliene Tharp her children Nathan Tharp, Jamie Olson and Emily Kratzer. Uncle Mark was a great Adventurer, he loved hiking, golf, fishing, going out to breakfast. We will miss sharing our lives with him, we will miss his laugh, we will miss him.
