Marilyn J. "Mickie" Foos Wilburn, born March 8, 1925 in Valley, Washington peacefully passed away January 21, 2014 in Kennewick, Washington. Mickie's childhood was spent at Long Lake, Washington. She graduated from Lewis & Clark High in Spokane, Washington. While attending Washington State University, she met and then married Paul S. Foos in '48 and settled in Spokane. In March of '59 they welcomed son Gregory and then in June of '61, daughter Paula. In '64 the family moved to the Tri-Cities where Paul took a job managing Kaiser's Market in Pasco, Washington. Mickie was elected State President for Jr. Women's Club. She also organized and ran "The Battle of the Bands" during the Water Follies and loved the hydroplane races. In January of '75 while on a medical flight to Seattle with Paul, the airplane went down. It took three days to locate but Mickie survived. She later met and married Jack A. Wilburn in '77. Always active, Mickie played drums with "The Polka Dots" dance band and was a founding member of the Tri-Cities Traditional Dixieland Jazz Society. Mickie was very involved in the Democratic Party at the Local, State and National level. A highlight was hosting a reception in her home for Gov. Dixie Lee Ray for the Cable Bridge dedication. She was a member of the Eagles, Elks, and Clover Island Yacht Club, making many lasting friends. Mickie loved playing bridge and during the summer months, hosted a weekly gathering, playing around her pool. Mickie was preceded in death by her parents, Gage Melborne Blue and Nell Walker Blue, a brother, Roger Blue, husband Paul S. Foos in '75, and spouse, Jack A. Wilburn in 2011. Mickie is survived by her brother Richard Blue, Wenatchee, WA, son Gregory Foos and wife Jannette; daughter Paula Webb and husband Ronald; daughter by marriage Julie Wilburn-Diethelm and husband Cameron, Tina Eisen and husband Chris and Stacey Diesburg; son, Scott Wilburn; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and lifelong friend, Alice Quinley. A huge thank you to her friends for the visits and to the Life Care of Kennewick staff for their kindness and support. Graveside services will be January 31, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street in Kennewick, WA.
