Obituary

Marie passed into the arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ, on February 18, 2009, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. She was born to Charles L. and Eleanor L. M. Walbye Ross in Rawlins, Wyoming. She married Leonard "Ed" Dickey on January 2, 1954, in Lexington, NE, and moved with him to Washington State in 1965, eventually moving to the Tri-Cities in 1973. Marie and Ed cherished time spent with family and friends. Besides fishing and camping they enjoyed horseshoes, square dancing, and playing cards. Marie was a devoted wife and mother. Volunteering at the Union Gospel Mission for several years, Marie supported many charities. "Laughter is the best medicine" is a saying she truly believed in, evidenced by her love of practical jokes and funny stories. Her love of music was exhibited by playing the piano and enjoying her family and friends perform. Being a very creative person, Marie enjoyed crochet, sewing, and crafts. Family reunions and gatherings with her sisters in recent years were welcome events. Marie will be remembered and dearly missed for her humor, generosity and love. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother. Marie is survived by her son, Mike Dickey, her daughters Cindy Reinbold, Teresa Randy Krekel, Charlene Dickey, grandchildren, Megan Krekel, Sean Krekel, Brian McGhan, Christopher McGhan, Vanessa McFall, Melissa Rogers, and 1 great-grandchild, Haley Rogers, three sisters, Bev Taylor of Reno, NV, Ellen Mike Bradley and Erma Allen of Kingman, AZ, and two brothers Chuck Diane Ross of Tyler, MN, and Jerry Kathy Ross of Grandy, NC. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, Safe Harbor Crisis Nursery, or the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission.
